Dear Member
Happy New Year and welcome to the January newsletter.
What's been happening since our last letter? Well, we've been very busy as usual we now have 3 new Black Belts well done to Lisa, Patryk and Jasmin.
We are looking forward to opening 3 new classes:-
Bishops Stopford School
The Monday class has changed it now runs from 6.00 – 7.00 pm and is open to everyone
7.00 -8.00 pm is sparring for anyone above orange belt.
Rough and Ready Gym
Wednesday class has also changed this is now more of a fitness class with lots of bag work from
6.00 - 7.00 pm and ring work from 7.00 - 7.30 pm
Wollaston School
Thursday class has a slight change of time the class now runs from 6.30–7.45 pm
The 2nd Class now runs from 7.45 – 9.00 pm
Judo Hall
We are also looking to start a new Junior's class on Saturdays from 9.45-10.30 am the class is for 4–8 year olds.
Tournaments and grading
October – The Academy went to the Peterborough Interclub – There were first places for Ezra, Asia and Vicky, and 2nd places for Thomas, Joe and Scott.
October – The Academy also attended the Bristol Open and there was an outstanding performance from Mide who won the points division, well done to Courtney, Scot, Patryk, Vicky, Reece and Lisa.
November - we held the 4th grading of the year, 40 students took part and passed their belts including our 3 new black belts.
Presentation Evening
December - We had our annual presentation evening it was held at the Wollaston Working Men's Club. Thanks to Sarah, Caroline and the rest of you for making it such a good night. This year's awards went to the following students –

JANUARY
Sunday 15th is the first Senior Belt class of the year at the Judo Hall Wellingborough NN8 4PH from 11.00 am till 12.30 pm
ISKA – squad training Sunday 22nd January 2012 from 1.00 -4.00pm
The Won Competition held at the Hemel Hempstead sports centre, Hemel Hempstead, HP1 1JS on the 29th January 2011 this tournament is ideal for members as it has a large number of novice categories.
FEBRUARY
Super league 1, on the 5th February 2012 held at the Windsor Leisure Centre, Windsor, SL4 5JB.
February 13th 2012 - 2nd senior class of the year the class will be at the Judo Hall from 11.00 – 12.30pm. The lesson is for senior grade students purple belts and above.
Wako British Championships 18th/19th February 2012 held at the Harvey Hadden Sports Centre, Nottingham NG8 4PB
MARCH
Irish Open 2nd – 5th March 2012 Saggart, Co Dublin, Ireland
The first grading of the year will be held on the 31st March 2012 at the Judo Hall Wellingborough
NN8 4PH from 9.00 am till 13.30 pm
