Richard Phillips

Head Instructor

I am one of the Instructors at the Family Fitness Centre and the Head instructor of the Fighting Fit Kickboxing Academy.

With over 30 years experience in martial arts it's to hard to put into words the passion i have for Fitness and sport -
I have competed in Kickboxing, nationally and internationally, culminating in winning my only world title.
I believe that my passion and history makes me an ideal Person to help motivate people achieve personal goals and ambitions, whether be in Personal Training or one of the 12 Kickboxing Classes, 2 Boxing Fitness Classes or the 4 Circuit classes that I teach. I love nothing more than to see a client achieve and succeed at their own personal goals and reaching the levels of health and fitness that they desire.

My strengths are my passion and belief that everybody is capable of being the best that they can be and that anything is possible with a bit of hard work and dedication. This is is why i have/had so many students go onto become World Champions and many clients, not only reach their Weight loss Goals, but also their sporting development & achievements, fitness levels and their overall goals and aspirations as far as fitness goes.

That is why all the classes that I teach are mixture of cardio, strength and conditioning.

Reece Phillips

Kickboxing Instructor

I am one of the Kickboxing instructors at the Fighting Fit Academy And Family fitness Centre - I have been training in Martial arts since the age of 8 - so with nearly 20 years of training and competing - i am and ideal person to teach people of all ages.

I teach six classes in total, across the academy, ranging from boxing fitness to kickboxing, whilst also attending the circuit classes. My favourite session of these are strength and conditioning.

My passion is Boxing, which is why my favourite class that I teach is Boxing Fitness - I love the mix of people we attract from the experienced boxers to the absolute beginners.

Asia Georghiou

Assistant Instructor

I am an assistant instructor at the Family Fitness Centre and at the Northampton Kickboxing classes whilst studying for my GCSE's. I have been training in kickboxing since the age of 6 years old, and I am currently a 2x WAKO World Champion and a European Silver Medallist. I have represented Great Britain at several World and European Championships.

I have 10 years experience of kickboxing training and competing as well as 5 years as an instructor. I have recently started 1:1 training with junior students and have gained so much satisfaction from watching my students put into practise the knowledge that I have emparted on to them. My ambition is to become a full time personal trainer and kickboxing trainer, whilst still being a competitive athlete.

Wojciech Maczka

Kickboxing Instructor

I am a kickboxing instructor at Fighting Fit Kickboxing Academy. I have been training with Fighting Fit since 2015 and am now Brown Belt, working towards Black. I am originally from Poland and I have a purple belt in Combat Kalaki Arnis Escrima.
I became an instructor in 2017 and have recently opened up and run the new training classes in Burton Latimer alongside Bradley. I also teach 2 other classes at Wellingborough along with assisting and covering holidays when required.
I enjoy all kinds of sports but my favourites being weight training and fitness training.

My wife & two daughters also train with the Fighting Fit Kickboxing Academy all progressing through their belts. I also actively compete along with one of my daughters.

Laura Watterson

Personal Trainer

I joined Fighting Fit Family in October, after they came highly recommended to me. I had not long had my 3rd child and wanted to lose my baby weight and to regain my fitness. After regaining my confidence and passion for exercise and running I was soon competing in several races raging from Obstacle Course Races to a Marathon in 2018. I also took up cycling and completed a 100km sportive last year. In 2017 I took an interest in the kickboxing classes and I am now currently a Green Belt aiming to go even further and loving it in the process. I still maintain my fitness by attending 4+ classes a week to continue my fitness development and wellbeing. I have recently qualified as a Personal Trainer and I cover classes when there is absence at the Academy.

My key strengths are running and weights.

Sarah Campbell

Running Coach

I joined the FFA family back in October 2017 with 1:1 Personal training sessions where my starting weight was 13st. I gradually gained the confidence to join other classes and train around other people, and, in the process, lost 2 and a half stone. I began with ladies kickboxing fitness, gradually progressing to circuits classes building up to 4+ training sessions a week. My favourite things to do are the kickboxing fitness classes and within circuits, weights to grow my strength and cardio as I love to feel like I have pushed and tested myself each and every session, giving it 100%.

In 2018, I began to do a little bit of running on the side mainly focusing on 5k races leading to successfully completing a half marathon in September 2018. When the opportunity then arose to put on a class on a Running Club, for those wanting to start at the very beginning with running, I knew I wanted to be a part of it. I have always wanted to give something back to the academy and help the new starters in their journeys the same as FFA helps me, it was the perfect opportunity.

I have recently qualified as a Leadership in Running Fitness and assist in coaching the Saturday Running Club at FFA.

Gill Clayton

Running Coach

Member and Running Coach at Family Fitness Centre Leadership In Running Fitness (LIRF)

I have been training with the Family Fitness Centre for approximately 6 years, since my eldest son started Kickboxing with the Academy. Both of my sons now train with Fighting Fit Academy and compete in competitions all over the country.

I recently qualified as a Leader in running Fitness and assist in coaching the Running group mid week and also hold my own Running Group with the Academy on Saturday mornings.

I’ve always enjoyed running and keeping fit but after my youngest son was born, a back operation halted my fitness completely for 2+ years and I was told I would never be able to run again.

My progression back to fitness was slow but with the patience and dedication from the Family Fitness Centre, my core strength has improved, I have lost weight, toned up and am fitter now than I have ever been. I started running again, entering races and completed my first Half Marathon in June 2018.

I attend 4+ classes a week including circuits, boxing fitness and running club.

I also take an active part in the running of the Academy, organising events, assisting in the running of holiday clubs and administration.

Lisa Marie Smith

Fitness Instructor & Personal Trainer

I’ve have been a coach at the Fighting Fit Family Centre since we opened in 2016.
I have a Level 2 Certification in Fitness Instructing and a Level 3 Certification in Personal Training.
I am a seasoned athlete with a vast experience across many disciplines, including endurance open water swimming, running, kickboxing and aquathlons; all in which I’ve competed in within the uk and internationally for many years.

I’m extremely passionate about fitness being fun and inclusive but at the same time a ‘blooming’ good workout!
I currently run 3 circuit classes a week which involve a mixture of endurance training and resistance training using high intensity, targeting strength building and muscular endurance.
I believe that Circuit training is a great boredom buster, moving quickly from one exercise to the next meaning your mind doesn’t have time to wander or tune out!

I feel the knowledge and experience I’ve gained over the years has contributed to my strengths as a personal trainer, I’m highly motivated and feel this inspires and motivates my clients.

Bradley

Instructor

I started my Fighting Fit journey aged 7, when I joined the kickboxing academy. I worked my way all through the belts and became a 1st Dan Black Belt aged 14.

I started to help out at the academy by being a junior instructor for 3 years before gaining my 2nd Dan Black Belt in November 2018. Since then I have become a joint head instructor at Fighting Fit Kickboxing Academy in Burton Latimer.
I still love to compete and have won several British titles.
