Bishop Stopford School, Bishops Drive, Kettering  NN15 6BJ

Description:

Physically demanding training session, with intense circuit training that helps build stamina and involves advanced sparring to help prepare for tournaments and improve skills.

Requirements:

Squad Training

No uniform required.
All participants should bring gloves, protective Pads and gum shield.
Bring water.

Time:

6:45pm - 8:00pm Mixed

Venue:

Rough 'n' Ready Gym, Spring  Road, Northampton

Description:

Open to all grades and abilities, including juniors above 6 years old. Both circuit training and Academy Syllabus with some light sparing at the end of the class.

Requirements:

Academy members must wear uniform.
Bring water, gloves, Pads and gum shield.

Time:

6.00 – 7.00pm Mixed

Venue:

Rough 'n' Ready Gym, Spring  Road, Northampton

Description:

Demanding class for senior students only.
This session is aimed at preparing for tournaments.

Requirements:

Squad Training

No uniform required.
All participants should bring gloves, protective Pads and gum shield.
Bring water.

Time:

6.45-7.45pm Mixed | 7.45 -9.00pm Adults only

Venue:

Wollaston Comprehensive School, Irchester Road, Wollaston, Wellingborough, Northants, NN29 7PH

Description:

Open to all grades and abilities, including juniors above 6 years old. Both circuit training and Academy Syllabus with some light sparing at the end of the class.

Requirements:

Academy members must wear uniform.
Students must bring equipment – gloves + pads etc.

Time:

9.45-10.30am (3-7) | 10:30 – 12.30  Mixed

Venue:

The Judo Hall, Wellingborough NN8 4PH

Description:

Open to all grades and abilities, including juniors above 6 years old. The first part of the class is circuit training and Academy Syllabus with sparing for the last part of the session.

Requirements:

Academy members must wear uniform.
Bring water, gloves, Pads and gum shield.

Time:

12.30 – 14.00

Venue:

The judo hall | Wellingborough

Description:

This class is for children 6 - 15 years old.

Requirements:

Academy members must wear uniform.
Bring water, gloves, Pads and gum shield.

All sessions consist of cardiovascular exercise which helps improve stamina and promotes a healthy heart and circulatory system. This is followed by stretching excersices that help keep you limber and flexible. The end part is the syllabus training and some sparring, depending on the class.

Bring water!

Some of our venues have water easily available within the hall being used, but some do not so it is highly recommended to bring water or a sports drink to keep hydrated throughout the class.

Sparring

Some of the classes involve sparring. This is highly controlled by the fully qualified instructor and is 'light contact' only.
More intense sparring is available for advanced students.

Safety

Safety of our students is a top priority to us.
We endeavour to look out for and deal with any problems students may be encountering.
To help limit injuries, sparring is only available to students who are members and are given permission from the instructor.
Any overly angressive or violent behavior is dealt with immediately as all lessons are focused on technique and form, and NOT to harm other students.

Always exercise safely

Listen to your body. You should be able to sense effort and perhaps even some discomfort, but never pain when training. Instructors are always on hand to help you with any injuries or discomforts you may have, and will attempt to work the lesson around your needs. If you are a beginner please inform the instructor of any injuries or problems you may have before the lesson begins.

Class prices

Classes are £4.00 for Adults and £3.00 for Juniors (Family rates are available).
If you would like to become a member of the fighting fit academy there is an additional one off membership payment of £50 for Adults and £40 for Juniors (Under 16 years).
Membership entitles you to the following:

• 1 years licence
• A free uniform
• A copy of the fighting fit academy grading syllabus
• Ability to participate in sparring
